Ignition "tci" Testing

Has anyone ever tested there "tci" unit?
I've tested mine as per the Haynes book, but got different voltages to the ones specified.

i call it dis, digital idle stablisation (sp) never tested one to be honest, mine had its original so put a new one on for peace of mind, arround the ?100 mark from vw iirc

On ETKA it is called tci unit, 191905351B and costs ?104.70 & vat.
Very common part, was fitted to every single mk2 golf so should be very easy to pick up.

Some models do have a DIS fitted as well. Mine only has the TCI. Kev is right it is fitted to many models. As to the VW price that sounds like a lot. GSF do one for @?30. Picking one up tomorrow along with a new Bosch coil.

Be warned i have heard stories of the gsf and simular cheaper units failing, i myself had one from gsf and within 4 months it failed! may be cheap but they dont last long, get a few from the scrappy if your on a budget, doesnt hurt to have a spare in the car
