ignition problems on a kr engine with webers

hi there i have a 1983 mk1 golf driver and i have converted it to a 1.8 16v Kr and i have fitted weber 45 i haven't replaced the wiring so it still got the 1.3 wiring loom. i have managed to get it running using a 8v wiring and parts but there is no retard or advance of the ignition the 8v uses vacum? and 16v uses the ecu? which i havent fitted can any one help me on how i can get round this on a buget :dontknow: if i have to wire a ecu in what sensors do i need to wire in to make my ignition to work correctly(air intake sensor)

You need the 16v ecu and the wiring for it - its quite simple - just a few powers & earths, a water temp sensor and a vacuum feed - do a search and theres quite a bit about it including photos of whats required
