horn and inner spotlights live when ingtion is on

hi can any 1 help horn live and inner spotlights live all the time should this be like this it is mk1 campaign 1800 GTI 8V

you mean your horn is on all the time? check the steering wheel horn buttons not damaged or wire shorted. if that no help, remove the wheel and check horn contact not bent and touching metal.

as for spots, these should only be live with outer high beams, or fogs if they're early ones. check the wiring from them should figure out the issue. some have a relay on inner wing for spots, maybe this is stuck internally

I don't think there should be a permanent live to the spotlights but pretty certain that with the ignition on there should be a permanent live or +ve to the horns. The buttons on the wheel switch the earth or -ve.
