Helppppppppp Coil Pack earth question

Hello

well haveing a day of it with my 1987 MK1 cabrio first a coolant hose split (now fixed) and then it cuts out whilst driving and impossible to start………. I have had a poke about under the bonnet and noticed a earth strap from the coil pack conected at the coil pack but dangling free the other end……. where should this go?????? I have only had the car since monday so still finding my way around the MK1 any help or pics much appreciated…….

its a coil mate…. not a coil pack and the earth strap wants to go onto your rocker cover bolt….. you'll probs find the bit thats worn off still on ur rocker…?
