HELP! Immobiliser wont switch off - SORTED NOW

F reg Cabby with a Foxguard immobiliser, the one with the key that looks like large headphone connector.

Basically, put the immobiliser key in the hole and nothing happens, i.e the car stays immobilised and wont start.  (all usual lights come on when igintion is on, which is normal, just cant get the immobiliser light to go out)

Anyone got any experence with these and how you fix them or bypass them??

Any ideas which circuits are disabled and how by the immobiliser??

Don't know where you are but I had a quote from an auto electrician in Newbury, Berks. He quoted ?40 to remove my immobiliser and undo any connections that had been diverted or changed!

I thought quite reasonable - cheaper than I thought it would be!

all an immobilizer does is cut a curcit, trace the wires from the immobilzer and find where it cuts the curcit and bypass it by rejoining the curcot

Thanks, All sorted now.

I was thinking I wasn't going to be able to get into the immobiliser but it was a case of undoing 2 screws and bypassing the 2 relays inside the immobiliser.

Just for reference if anyone finds this via search in the future model number of immobiliser was JR50 and you cant miss the 2 relays (or 4 wires) which need bypassing once your inside the unit.

Foxguard Immobiliser

I've the exact same problem -same gizmo with the same key like an audio plug.
I was warned by the previous owner not to touch it, NOR the CLIFFORD remote box on the keyring, as I suspect he'd had trouble. So I did exactly as he said - just treated them as if they didn't exist. Yet, today I turn the key in the ign and -nothing, except I hear a short burst of chiming from somewhere around the instrument panel.  Only difference in my case is that the little red light is not on, nor ever has been, so maybe I've got another problem? However it behaves just like any other car with an immobiliser I've known where I've forgotten to switch it off upon entering ie. twist key, nothing happens except that the panel lights dim Very Very slightly, plus in this case the weird music aforementioned.
Another thing, I don't even know where to start looking for the black box.  Where are these thigns usually mounted?
Thanks to anyone who may be reading.

Thanks!  I'd say with certainty that the batt did flatten.  Right now I'm out of serious trouble as my car is starting OK though I have no alarm or immobiliser.  N worries
