Heater fan fuse
I've got a 83 gti with blade fuses rather than the other type, does anyone know what number on the fuse box is the fuse for the demister fan, I think mines blown and don't want to go trawling through the whole thing to find it.
Cheers,
Mike.

Bugger, replaced the fuse, it's okay on speeds 1 and 2, but put it on full and the fuse pops again. Anyone go any inspiration on this or is it just a matter of replacing the fan?

AHH! The resistor for the fan is mounted on top of the fan. Have a look see if all three wires are on, one might of come loose and arcing on the body or somthin. Pic below!
If that aint it, then its shortin somwhere else. Multi-meter time!

I would check that your ground connection on the 5 pin molex connector is good. They have a tendency to corrode and melt, causing the fuse to pop under higher loads.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
