Headlight Washer ??

Hi,

wondering if anyone can help.. I have headlight washers on my 1984 cab, they have never worked since i got the car. thing is how do i get them to work, do they run off the normal washer stalk switch or do the lights have to be on also? im guessing that something is not right somewhere, just wondering if anyone knew so i can get them set up as intended by vw.

The washers work with side lights (minimum) and the windscreen washer stalk is pull backwards as per windscreen wash.

There should be two pumps in your enlarged washer bottle. Swap over the wires to check pump operation.

there should be a relay clipped above the fusebox for it, 33iirc? check the fusebox sticky there is a list of relays in there

thanks for the info, i was going to put my own relay in but will investigate this now

found the relay, the points are furred up, looks like a new relay may be needed..
