headlight problems.

Hi guys,

Ive always loved the mark 1 golf and Ive finally managed to get one!
problem is Im having alot of electrical issues. The dash, brakes, main dipped and indicator lights werent working. having changed a few bulbs and grinding the earth point back to bare metal I seem to have them all working again except for the main dipped headlights. Ihave parking and full beam but no dipped. Ive changed the bulbs checked the connections and everything looks right but still no dipped mains! Anybody with any help or advice will be my new best friend!

Had the same issue and turned out to be a broken wire somewhere between the fusebox and the headlamps.

Check fuses first, check wiring continuity and then look at the swich on the steering column…

had similair probs, jst sitting the in the car now, the switch has burnt wires leading into it so jst taping them up to and will try getting a new switch, the dash lights dont work either and its the same switch!
