Hazards work...indicators don't....why!!!? Help!

I took the dash apart the other day to take a look at the cabling (horrific) and replace some bulbs + i changed the steering wheel, then when i replaced it all i found that the indicators don't function anymore.

When i push up or down on the stalk it just goes solid green and the indicators don't come on.

The hazards work as normal, so what could be the problem? There are so many botched bits of wire which are taped together with electrical tape, some connected to something, some not which means i can't if anything has been disconnected with all the movement of the dash…

Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, well a quick search of posts which i should have done in the first place said to me either relay, fuse or hazard switch.

The switch is fine, the relay is fine but whenever i replace the fuse it blows instantly….. I'm a little bit of a numpty when it comes to electrics - where do i even start!?

Okay, well I came to my last 10amp fuse and moved all the cables i could find away from any other cables, metal etc…and it managed to work!

So i'm going to go through the wires, one by one and re-terminate anything that looks dodgy in the morning.

mine blew the fuse when I had the dash out,  two wires touched together and blew the fuse and created the same problem, they were the two wires that go to the hazard switch that are seperate from the main plug body.  Changed the fuse and all working fine since then  :) .
