Handbrake light comes on and off ??????????

When i brake quite hard or go into a corner quite hard the handbrake light comes on and stays on for a few seconds before going out, i am confused to as why this is happening, anyone else had a similar experience ???

I am gonna try and get it to the garage in the next few days but i dont want them trying to rip me off.

Any help/ideas to this problem are gratefully appreciated.

Don't know if it's the same on the Golf but check your brake fluid - if the level drops below min on braking/cornering it may be showing you the warning light

You may have low brake fliud. The light is also a warning from the switch on the brake res filler cap. Or the wires are loose on the switch under the handbrake :dontknow:

Thanks guys, it was the brake fluid, it was just on the minimum line.

All sorted now, i topped it up and the light hasnt come on since.
