GSF Cabby Electric Window Kit Offer

Just though I'd let everyone know that GSF electric window kits for the cabby are in their clearance section along with a couple of other bits for the Mk1.

http://www.gsfcarparts.com/janoffers/

I've gone and ordered a set that should arrive tomorrow hopefully so I'll report what they are like.

I read in their forum that Mk2 kits are electric life ones so I'm hoping these are too. They are ?90 +VAT which is cheap for electric life ones I think.

Cheers,

Ross

Well… for anyone that wants to know…I got the kit!

I've been to busy to sort out the pics until now.

Theyre not made my Electric Life but by AutoLift. They look a bit cheapy but hopefully they'll be ok.

The switches are exact copies of standard Mk1 cabby ones that fit in the centre console. All the wirings included apart from a relay but you dont have to fit one.

Here's a pic of the mechanisms…

They are the scissor type like the standard ones in a cabby. I was hoping that they'd be the same as the ones I currently have in my sportline which I think are electric life but I dont know. It would have been a nice easy direct swap.

The problem with the ones I have in at the moment is that the track/cable is warn on the drivers side one.
As you can see I tried to fit them this weekend but ran into a problem!
The standard scissor type attaches to the brackets at the bottom of the window differently and I have a bit missing. The pic below shows where it goes.

I think its some kind of bracket/socket that the ball on the mechanism pops into. Its not available as a seperate part from VW by the looks of things. I think its part of the complete mech.

Can anyone help me out with one pleeease???

It wasn't a good weekend for me car wise. I bought a new back box to get rid of the big bore but found that the centre section had been hacked about so need one of these too

Then the car started to run on 3 cylinders like the head gasket might have gone. Stopped and called the RAC and by the time they came it had cured itself. He thought it might have been frozen fuel! Which then thawed out! So that was lucky! I've been to Okehampton and Newquay since and its been fine so am happier

Its my sportline I'm fitting them to. There's definately just one bit missing and its stopping me fitting them. Soooo frustrating  :banghead:
