gauges

hi, hope someone can help me , just bought a centre console from an old mk1 golf, it came with 2 gauges , a clock simple to wire into my existing console (bought and fitted voltmetre also) and it came with a gauge which has a dial that is marked from 50 to 150  and 0 cels on it , would this be oil temp ???? and is this straight forward to fit ?? it going into a mk1 `89 1800 cabrio
