Fuseboxes. MK1-Mk2

Ok.

Is the L8 Mk1 fusebox the same as the MK2?

I have read that they are the same, but looking at my m8's 1992 16V his looks slightly different.

Did they revise the MK2 Fusebox later in life?

Did they make the DIGI 1.8 with the MK1/2 fuse box?

Cheers

VW seemed to field test next generation components in the last of the previous version. For example 1.8inj engine and 14 inch wheels from MKI to MK11 then big plastic bumpers and standard PAS from MK11 to MKIII.

Would guess the MKII fuse box got changed in the MK11 1988 face lift.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

We were hoping to find a DIGI engine bay looms to plug into the MK1 box…

Hopefully it will be possible…..

From checking VW parts list, appears the same fusebox (part number 171 941 821 D) was used 1982-1989.

I can confirm that the fuse box in a 1984 Mk2 gti was the same as the one in my 1988 cabrio.  Its also the same as the one used in a 1984 passat.  These have several useful things in them - all the dash switches are the same, and the ventilation fan is the same too.  Big
