Fuse Box Replacement

Hi,

Can I replace the fuse box in my 1981 Golf GTI (bullet type fuses) with a later 'blade' type fuse box ?. If so, is this just a straight forward swop over and change of fuse type or are any of the fuse / relay positions different ?.

i have never done this before my self but i do know that on the rear of the fuse box should be plugs so it safe to assume they should fit if you had on to hand with the help of a manual im sure you could cross referance the wires before doing the swap. only an idea thou!
