Fuel pump wire
From studying the wiring diagrams this wire appears to meet at a connector with two red/white wires (warm up reg and aux air valve). These three wires then connect to a black/green wire which enters at multipin connector A pin 8.
Can anyone answer me how do I identify multipin connector A pin 8? Does anyone know where the connector is (behind the fusebox)? Anyone had to replace this wire before - any tips? The fusebox (below) is a contintental fuse type.
This is my first foray into wiring so want to make sure I've got everything covered.
Cheers

Probably not much help to you though… ops:
This pin was empty on my car (due to it not being a Gti).
The feed to the pin however was live, so, I had to add a wire into it to take off to the pump. ended up giving me loads of trouble so I completely re-wired the pump onto a stand alone relay fed directly from the battery.

Assume must be water which caused the problem. I felt around the carpets - all very dry - although have found a damp patch in the foot well, no water though. Connecter block D also has similar damage in it very near to where the blower connection is - might explain why my blower is not working?
Suppose could be possible damage has happened in the past (did have a leaky front screen seal about 1-2 years ago) and has only become marginal and failed the other day?
