fuel pump problem on 16v converstion

hi,
  i have abf engine in my mk1, it is running bike carbs and a bike fuel pump
im having problems getting the pump to work, i have tested the pump and this is fine and i have also checked the relay.
I have been advised that there is a cut off on the relay that is fed from the coil that stops the pump working.
does anyone know which colour wire this is so i can check it as it is a series 2 so i cant tell which cables come from the relay and
wiring diagrams puzzle the hell out of me!

any help would be appreciated!

i MIGHT be wrong but im sure its fed from the low current side of the coil  ( number 1 )    black wire i think ??

also are you sure the relay is not naff ?
