Fuel economy light ???????

Top centre of the instrument panel mpg there's a light think it's supposed to be Amber. Can't seem to find much info anywhere about this can someone explain exactly wat this is and how I can fix mine cos it doesn't work

1st thing cheack your gearbox, you need the type which has a large multi plug on it for the reverse and mpg gauge. if its just a 2 pin reverse plug then the gauge wont work

It's a rectangle one on top o the gearbox pretty sure it's the right one. It's a genuine campaign model 98% original just need to fine original radio and a few other bits so I'm sure it's the right one. Is the light a fuel economy light?? Do u kno how to fix it? My mpg metre also does not work could that be something to do with it?

The light is a "change up" indicator, it lights when the computer thinks it would be more economical to change up a gear. The fuel economy gauge, if you have this, only works in top gear.

Yes iv got the mpg but this doesn't work either do u kno how to get both of these working again?? I kno it probably doesn't matter if they don't work but it niggles at me!!!

there is a control relay above the fusebox for it, so make sure thats there. it could be your switch is duff though. i think new ones can be had on ebay now?  if you have a multimeter you can check the pins on the switch. also there should be a vacuum switch inline with the dizzy hose, this is what tells the light to come on
