Front Wipers...Again

Hi all,

I know there have been many posts with issues on front wipers, this includes me :redfaced:

But i have a diffrent problem and with a quick search on the forum, i couldn't see anything reagarding this so thought i'd stick up a post and see how we get along. Anyway back to the point lol, my wipers do not seem to self park, i did change the wiper motor over. Could this be the possible problem?

I was thinking it cant be the actual motor as this will keep turning whenever there is a live feed there. Any of you guys think it could be the relay number 19? As they work on both slow and fast speed therefore not the stalk? Am i correct in saying this?

Any help would greatly be appraciated as always!  :D  8)

Thanks guys!

Kind regards,

Hi,
I have the same problem but will be able to fix it within this weekend.
But prior to all: you should know that the wiper motor needs continuous 12volts to perform selfparking.
so my first suggestion: unplug the wipermotor and check (ignition on) the plugs on the wire side if there is 12volts present on any of them.
If "yes" then :?  I may guess that the plug inside the harness is in wrong position.
If "no" then  :D  we know that there is a broken circuit.
Actually I am in my office, I have an exact diagram at home, so I will send more exact information on monday if you are still interested.

Note: I am kinda sure that your problem is not related to the Wiper Motor, and the relay !!!

Hi Mate,

that would be great if you could send me more info , what did you mean by "If "yes" then I may guess that the plug inside the harness is in wrong position." dont quite get what you mean there.

Look forward to your help  :D

Thanks,

I tried to upload a picture from a german maintenance and repair catalogue, if it appears correctly, you will see the plug pins at the wiper motor. Ther say that if you connect  pin1  to (53)-Positive and Pin2 to 31-Negative (Ground). The wiper should go to its parking position and stop there.
If it does so, then you should test, the multiplug (which is conneccted to these pins at the wiper motor) if there is +12 volts at the part which fits to pin1 (dont forget to switch ignition on).
I guess that the line of plug1 is dead, so you need to track it to the fusebox (bad connection? a broken fuse? or similar)

I will also try to uplad the full elekric diagramme of the golf  (If I manage to do so)

I did it :)
