front light not working

hican anyone help i swaped out the stalks on my mk1 gti after i did this the front left light dont work anymore i checked all the plugs and wires changed the light switch twice and put the old stlaks back but it still is not working can any one help

check for voltage at the light switch ie the loom plug if none check at fuse box for volts  i know this may sound silly but you did check fuses
