Flashing handbreak light

Hi all,
Before I start riping wires apart I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with an intermittently flashing handbreak warning light? It is fine with the handbreak on and only flashing when I'm driving. I'm presuming there is some kind of micrswitch that opens when the handbreak is released - maybe sticking?
Appreciate any thoughts…

the handbrake light is also a brake fluid warning light… best check that right away

do you find it comes on more when braking/cornering or accelerating?

I found that if the handbrake wiring is at fault, the light won't come on

Check your brake fluid level and the wires that go to the sensor on the lid of the M/C.

Hi, fluid level is fine. What in the M/C (apart from part of a stereo band from the mid nineties  :)  )

The handbrake light switch is just at the front of the handbrake lever - I suspect that you have a short on the wire that goes to it causing the flashing.
