Fitting standard rear lamps in place of aftermarket ones

Post

I am in the process of re-fitting standard tail lights, as my Cabby came with aftermarket ones.

Do all the bulbs and fittings need changing, as the guy who is looking at this for me says the existing bulbs on there are not fitting the new standard tail light?

Many thanks!

You really need the proper light board to change them back, it clips straight into the back of the clusters as a complete unit using the little tabs you can see next to the indicator and reverse light lenses.

I thought on he cabby they are all individual and the clips are just for a plastic cover ?

You will need the full pressed steel lightboard into which the spade connectors and lamps all fit.  I've just changed mine and all advice you've had to date is correct.  The lamps/bulbs are different and without the lamp holder section you can;t fit the original lights.  All you have there is the lens.
You'll need to get the lamp holder section to replace the lights. Definitely.

Thanks for the advice :)Looks like I need to place a 'wanted' ad for the lightboard then.

Yea, ignore me, I was talking rubbish !

It is a galvanised metal plate with a Hella part number of THK 29 on it.

Try Funk-star on here
