Ethos's list of elecrical faults, send help.... SOS

Hello! As some of you may or may not have read in the newbies section i bought a '87 1.6 diesel caddy a few weeks ago and it's electrics are, well to be precise, possessed and i'm in need of a little assistance (hopefully, please) to get things as they should be….
 
First up.. I don't know if this is the route of all my electrical issues or whether i'm missing relays from the fuse/relay box, are they the same as a mk1 golf-did they even make a 1.6 diesel golf? ie, are there wiring diagrams in the haynes manual(or any technical manual) for A Diesel Caddy? I'm planning on rectifying all this myself and i'll avoid relooming it at all costs as that'd be a pain in the ass.

The indicators have been rewired completely separately from the dashboard and have their current 'hi-jacked' from elsewhere,(possibly the head-unit feed, i don't know) although they still have a dedicated fuse in the fuse box, whether this is originally for the indicators or not, i also, don't know. Also, i think i could be missing a few relays. I've no idea what it should look like. Any input's greatly appreciated…

As for the rest, i'll just list them here, and before any one suggests checking the fuses, i've checked them all so, i'm not that idiotic…
Wipers only work on flat out and don't return when switched off(washer jets do work though!).
None of the dashboard lights work (except the light within the light switch, ironic i know)
Rear fog doesn't work (break and reversing lights do!)
HeadLights won't flash without the lights being on (Blue dash bulb for f/beam works when lights are on full beam but not when flashed)


Any assistance is appreciated, sorry if there's a thread already for this or if i've started this in the wrong place but i did go back a few pages and couldn't see anything this 'broad' or a caddy or a golf that appear to have had as harder life as mine has! I feel like someone who's got a dog from a rescue centre or something, oh well the bad life's finished or her now…

most of the wiring is the same for any other equivilant age/spc golf. the differences will only be in the engine loom section. lights, dash etc all same as any other golf.

there are too many wire faults going on with your loom i think it would be best if you had the dash out and look at exactly what captain bodger has done back there, worst case bin it and get an un-bodged loom.
