Erratic Indicators

Hello all  :dontknow:
I have an indicator fault on my 82 GTI,offside indicator works fine nearside flashes at double speed.All bulbs are lit but seem very dim,changed relay no luck, earthed each bulb again the same prob.
Can any help please as when they are fixed i can take it out on my maiden voyage.

P.S Dare not take it out yet flashers are that dim i will only end up with a Furd Fucos hanging out the back of it!!

How can indicators be erotic?

some people consider flashing a turn on.
