Engine fuse

Good morning,

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice on a problem i'm having with my 1987 golf gti cab?

A while back i had a fuse blow that controlled the engine, it wouldn't turn over or anything - completely dead. I had it changed by a garage and it was working fine for a while.

Now i have a new problem. The golf fires up fine and drives perfectly for a while then the red light on the temp gauge starts to flash intermittantly but the car continues to drive fine. But when i stop and turn the engine off (to fill up with petrol or nip to the shop etc) then go to start it again it just keeps turning over but not firing up. Although if you leave it for a while and go back out to it, it'll start up fine again, but then not start again if you turn the engine off.

Does anyone have any advice as to how i could fix this problem? Any ideas would be much appreciated

The flashing light on your temp gauge is more than likley letting you know that you need to put coolant in it,(or the sensor is dying)which i dont think will be related to your hot start problem,if you have a dig around on the site you will find some  solutions  to hot start i hope that helps you  :dontknow:
