ELectric roof Issues

Im finally getting down to finishing my rivage , one problem im having is with the electric roof !

First time i put it down the other day went down really smooth, " i had the engine on "

then i came to put it up no joy it wouldnt work,  so after panicking like a mad man trying different ways

1) engine on - no good

2) engine off - no good

so i put it in the garage and left it a while

after speaking to PNE  rivage who has been a god sent , he told me about just putting key in without turning

and it worked !!

So again today i had the roof down no problem went to put it up and again didnt work this time without panic i tried with engine off and  key in not turned onto the battery, ( i can here it clicking in the boot )

but it still didnt work !

so again left it for a few hours and then went and tried it just now and went up no problem

Does anyone know what it could be ?

PNE mentioned dodgy ignition port or maybe an immobilizer ( mine is not working )

Hey mate. Have you checked the hydraulic shut off tap in the boos it tight? It's just on the lhs in the boot, if you have the boot inserts in place put ur hand through the circular hole and make sure it's tight, clockwise. Also check the hydraulic fluid level on the pump.

Hope that helps.

Hi thanks for that !

I tried it again today put key in without turning , straight down then up again no problem

so it seems to be after i been driving it for a while !

I checked key in the hydraulics system, it was tightly turned clockwise

Also the fluid level is about half way so thats seems ok  ( how do you fill it up , i couldn't find where to do it ? )

Cheers

really Jay the hood should only work with the key in not turned..  it shouldnt work at all with the engine on,no key in, or key in and ignition on..

sound to me like the previous owner has been fiddling.

There is a trick to disconnect two wires in the boot to make your hood work with engine on or off. I have done this to mine. check out this post..

when we meet up can have a look behind my switch to see if yours has been rewired
