Electric Fuel Pump on 1.1

Hey,

I'm going to be fitting bike carbs on my 1.1, and i need to use a high pressure fuel pump and regulator…..Which is all fine. The thing is: i can just cheat and do some shoddy wiring to get it workking off of the ignition barrel. BUT i don't want to.

The fuse box on the 1.1 is the same as the 'higher' spec models, and i want to utilise the empty fuel pump relay post (position 2). I know that when Volkswagen produced these cars they used some of the same wiring for different spec cars ( for example installing the feed to the RPM counter on 'non-RPM counter' models).

So i suppose the question i'm asking is……is the wiring for an electric fuel pump already in place?

I havn't got easy access to a GTI so i'm not even sure where the fuel pup is located, That would also be useful to know?!?

Any comments, pictures, or general information would be ueful  :o

I have an SPI engine in my mk1. The live to switch the ecu on comes from the right hand end of the fuse box on one of the spade connectors that are there. It stays live during cranking and can run a fuel pump. The earth could be local to the pump or at the earth block above the fuse box.
