Eath Points

Hi All
I Currently have a 1300 driver and i took the battery off my brothers mk2 project which fired up first time no problem, then i put the on my mk1 and within a few day the battery was completly flat, i think that it could be a bad earth, so if any one could give a brief description of where the earth points are i'd appreciate it.
