Early speedo cables! found a manufacturer that makes 'em

Hey guys, I've been thinking about putting the early dash in my car and the only thing that's stopped me was the lack of an early speedo cable (i didn't look very hard really)
Finally I've pulled my finger out and found this website that makes speedo cables, thought it may be of use to others having problems sourcing them, heres a link http://speedograph-richfield.com/html/volkswagen.html

It says 74-84 though. So sounds to me like you could end up with a late one… Maybe they arent aware there are two types. Theres nothing on the page saying theres a choice to make after clicking 'buy now'.. Or have you asked about this?

:redfaced:  yeeah umm…after re-reading the site, it does seem I've been a little over enthusiastic. You have raised a good point Ross, I can't believe I made such a school-boy error by not double checking the model year box properly!  

Still once I've gotten home, it'll be straight on the phone to them.

And I'm glad You've turned up Ross, will an early speedo cable fit my '83's 4 speed gearbox, or is will I have to buy a gearbox to go with my clocks
 

Easily done!  

An early cable will fit a late gearbox. Its only the speedo end thats a different fitment.
