Driving me insane !!
The pump works has been tested independantly, there are no blockages as have wired the pump and reservoir up direct from the battery and have successfully got washer fluid all over my windscreen.
have tested the wires and get 12 plus volts…then the moment the wires are connected to the pump on the reservoir the voltage drops and I end up with not even half a volt….
Why, why, why,….please help me i cannot understand this…..

+ on batt and the other wire should show now 12v, ifnot you have a earth
problem,1 wire should be pos other should be earth.

how would i get to the heater motor? is it under the hood?Slowstarter said
Yes mate armature is probably all one piece of molten copper now :-) pop the back off it to check for charcoal!

You have a very high resistance connection somewhere in the circuit causing this problem, to eliminate the earth connect your multimeter to it at the pump plug and then to the battery neg terminal, you should have a reading around 0 to 2 ohms roughly, I would imagine the most likely culprit is the stalk switch and it might be worth having a look at it and seeing if you can clean up the contacts a little to improve matters, let us know how you get on!
Bang on the money, probibly half a split in the wire somewhere mate
