Doing my head in

Could anyone assist in solving a problem I have with the electrics on the Rivage, My wife plugged the sat nav into the lighter socket and said that she heard a sizzle type noise from behind the dash!! Since then the stereo will not work although I have bench tested it and it works fine. Also the mfa display keeps zeroing itself whenever you open a door. Could this be a problem with the voltage regulator?

Could just be a fuse has gone, have you checked? Would be surprised if Satnav would do that but worth a look

All fuses checked and OK, Radio just lights up dim then bright. Every time I reset the MFA clock it works until one of the doors is opened then as I said it zero's itself.

check the back of the fuse board for damage to the plugs.

If your heard a sizzle noise from behind the dash, chances are something has sizzled behind the dash, so check there for a burnt wire :) probably your 12v feed to the cigarette lighter has burnt out.

I have checked all the wires and can see nothing scorched or damaged, would it be anything to do with the voltage regulator on the pcb?

Not unless your running the head unit off the dash for some reason. Voltage regulaotr in the dash does just the dials (maybe the MFA too)

Chances are if its not the fuse then it'll be a bad wire somewhere you might have to check them all with a meter.

Just had a thought it could be a dodgey earth.
