Does my Goof have electronic OEM electronic ignition

Hello, My GTI cabriolet is an 88, and I was curious if any one knew whether these are fitted with leccy ignition as standard. Its in at the garage so I cant look inside the dizzy, but if itr wasm't i was going to get fitted
