Hi Guys
I have an issues when I use my lights, the headlights go on fine, however my dash, tail and VDO lights don't always come on immediately, they sometimes come on after about 20 minutes but sometimes not at all, how or what can I check to resolve, the fuses have been renewed…all of them, checked earth/power on the tail lights and working fine, still need to check VDO, Cluster has new globes as well, this is rather irritating, please help.
thanks

check under the bonnet, on the right hand side of the engine (facing the windscreen) there should be a cable (thin one) attached to the engine, this is an earth for the clocks etc.. if this is undone/ broken then dash wont work correctly when lights are on.
mate had same issue it was just that connection, we put new crimp on an bolted back up, fine ever since
hope helps

Thank you for that, I have removed the engine on a couple of occasions, I don't recall attaching any wire or removing one, will check.

Ok, So cannot find any wire connected to the Engine, But after toying around with the fuse box, the dash, vdo and tail lights came on, once off for a while they dont come back on, again, when I move the fuse box off its bracket, they come back on, so seems like a pinched or bent-open wire or connection….which one, will play some more

So after checking the fuse box plugs and each connection, I found the problem and a couple more, I wedged a piece of a nail into the troublesom connection so it doesnt move around and all is well again, works every time. Thanks for your assistance
