Dash Bulbs

Hi All
Have just printed off the list of dash bulbs that Rich made up…
Need help with the replacement…cud someone please put me straight on how to get at the dash lights!!!
I have Haynes but after taking the steering wheel off it gets a bit vague….I need it in A B C terms - nothing too technical!! Tks all.

TC,

Take the two cover plates over the switches of (gently lever off with flat driver)
Pull all the heater knobs off
Push out the heater front (disconnect licht connector)
Remove 6 screws holding tash trim - pull forward and disconnect all electrics
remove two screws holding clocks - reach around left side, pinch speedo connector and pull back.
Tilt clocks and disonnect vac hose
Partially remove clocks and disconnect both plugs.
Bulb holders are accesible from the rear of the clocks (90 degree turn to et them out)

dash bulbs

I've just replaced the 3 dash bulbs on mines with blue ones.
Very easy to do once u have all screws, knobs & switches undone…it'll actually take u longer to unplg the hazard switches etc than to change the bulbs.

....can be done without removing the steering wheel. When sorting various clock issues I used to have it ended up like an F1 pit-crew at tyre change time (when they still did this!) Could be in and out in no time!

Used to replace my Dash bulbs in the main binnacle by removing the lower dash tray then laying upside down on the Drivers seat and stiking my hand up behind. I could just see and reach the bulbs that needed changing, using  a torch held in my mouth ….. downside was that the blood would rush to your head so you couldn't lay like it for too long, and the torch gets a bit heavy !!     … but hey saves taking the dash apart
