Correct battery

Guys,
What is the correct battery rating for Mk1 (1800) - to date I have been using 45Ah. Can I use slightly bigger rating?

Battery is weak in the morning (just enough to start car), but once it starts all OK for the day.

I always go bigger anyway,i would go to a 55AH or a 60AH

The battery is just storage of electrical energy. The 60AH are only a few quid more than the 45 and have a third more capacity. It may come in handy one cold damp morning or if you do lots of short journys that would run down a 45AH.

I have an 065, which is the same size as the 063, but is designed for diesels. It used to be on my Mondeo TD. No problems cranking in cold weather, 540A against 420A.

60Ah it is then - I do a lot of short runs and have a few 'extras' on the car that need a bit more juice!!
