coil signal

hi guys,
just a quick one, after doing a efi, digifant conversion from a mk2 golf into my 89 gti cabby i cant find a spark. it seems iv got no signal at the hall effect of coil?  :dontknow: everything up top in the bay seems to pin out exactly as it should according to the haynes wiring diagrams, we used the mk2 engine loom and fuesbox. i have a red+black wire that goes from the coil to pin 26 connector d in the fuesbox. i was wondering if anybody could shed some light on where the fuesbox takes it from there?
thanks in advance, liam.

Is The Red and Black wire a switched live?

If you turn the ignition on is the wire live at coil?

I'm thinking this is the power source for the coil.

Have you used the dizzy, coil, ecu, and the TCI module from the donor?

no the coil gets its live from one of the black wires. i belive it is just a trigger wire? but if so its not triggering the coil as it should be.  :dontknow: and yes all the main electrical components have been used from the mk2.
thaks liam.

Having no practical knowledge of this, but I'm guessing the hall effect sender produces the signal, not receives one.

Should just be the sender wire for the rev counter, the coil should have 12v ign live on pin 15, the other wire on pin 15 should go to the tci (ign control unit) and there should be another red/black (may be green tho think the early digifants were) wire from pin 1 to the tci unit.
