clocks problems
im now totally bald from tearing my hair out.
my clocks in my 1983 golf gti convertible have never worked properly since buying it 2 months ago. the speedo is fine, the rev counter is on 0 when stationary and only ever really goes up to 1500 revs max. the fuel gauge has never worked nor has the temp gauge. i dont expect the mfa to work as it has a different gear box.
i have just bought some new clocks as the originals have a large solder hole in the pcb but nothing except the speedo works on the new ones not even the indicator ledsw etc.
the pcb on the back is different do i need to modify the loom to make it work or should they be the same . ive tried to attach photo's

the area that is burnt out is where the voltage regulator is, that's the black square thing in the corner. It stabilizes the voltage to the clocks, bulbs etc.
It should read ITTE TCA 700Y. They are about ?7.00.
+ unfortunately I am not sure you can swap the circuit board over. Either. You need to look out for an exact set of clocks that were in your car either VDO or MOTOMETER.
I would look out in the parts for sale section or place a thread in parts wanted
specifying the make. Plus I have sent you a private message.

Most of the problems can be traced to the connectors and tracks on that dreaded blue plastic sheet. I did half develop a new replacement in the form of a loom but nver got round to finishing it off.
