Clipper roof & fusebox

Hi to all, just a quick introduction, names Andy, I'm 21 and live in Exmouth in Devon. Have now got my first mk1 (clipper) but have owned several mk2 gti's (currently own 4) so am a little obsessive about golfs.

The car was dirt cheap, but the shell is mint, engines really good and the roofs ok. Main problem appears to be a few electrical niggles. First one is the roof. The motor works fine as does the frame. The switch makes no differance whatsoever to it though. There are 4 relays connected to the motor. Just curious if theres a common fault (relay/switch) or weather i have to investigate further.

Also, does anyone fave a fusebox diagram for said vehicle (its a 1990 on a H reg). I've had a look and there seems an incredible amount of empty fuse slots, but dont know whats meant to be there if any!

Hi,

I've copied this fusebox diagram from another post (a few electrical problems thread) which is identical to the one in my '89 Clipper.

My fusebox has got a hardboard cover with the following list of fuses on it, which should sort you out.

1 ? Radiator fan
2 ? Brake lights
3 ? Cigarette lighter, radio, clock, interior light
4 ? Emergency light
5 ? Fuel pump (not used)
6 ? Fog lights (not used)
7 ? Tail and side lights left
8 ? Tail and side lights right
9 ? High beam right, high beam warning light
10 ? High beam left
11 ? Windscreen wipers and washer
12 ? Rear wiper and washer, coolant level monitor
13 ? Rear window defroster
14 ? Blower
15 ? Reversing lights, shift pattern illumination
16 ? Horn single
17 ? Automatic choke and idling cut off valve
18 ? Horn dual, headlight washer, brake warn lamp
19 ? Turn signals
20 ? Number plate light, glove box light
21 ? Low beam left
22 ? Low beam right

Cheers
