changing millage reading on speedo.

in process of changing clocks on my convertible wondering if the millage can be put back or changed to original millage can this be done and how ?

Yes it can.

Basically, you take the clocks apart and rearrange the numbers, then put it back together. A set of jeweller's screwdrivers would be a good investment, and also give a good clean up while you're in there.

And no, doing a "Ferris Bueler", mounting it on bricks and running it with a brick on the throttle in reverse doesn't do it (quick enough). Also winding it back with a power drill is a bit slow.

Of course, only if you have a legitimate reason to, such as replacing the clocks with another set and adjusting the new ones to true car mileage.

ok will give it a try i take it all those electrical ribbons have to come off when taking the clocks apart

I found a way of doing it by accident when investigating the cause for it not moving on (my speedo was working), the pin that secures the digits was misaligned and the gear wasn't catching. with it slid off you can spin it to increase/decrease mileage
