Cars dead! and acting weird.

somehow managed to drain a new battery, not sure how. had it running a week ago, and now it wont even turn the engine - doesnt even attempt to to move atall. so i dont really know how long it took to run down. lights being funny too fag lighter light on all the time , then the clock would switch on with the light switch, fuse changed clock now works ash tray light goes off when headlights are on and vise versa, spot lights not working atall, headlights are but very dim. is the battery being drained somehow? oh yeah radio removed last week, anything to do with that? and the ash tray too today. couldnt of even left anything interior on because the fuse was burnt for the light/illumination etc. im rather stuck, any help? :dontknow:

hi mate sounds like you have a real problem i had a similar electrical dilemma on my 1300 beast,  if i were you id check all the wireing to the componants tht are faulty,,earth lives n perminant,, as for your cig lighter n battery issue,, when the stereo was removed were the wires taped up, if not a perminant live may be on another contact ie cig lighter causein another componant to become LIVE,, ie more juice is drained from battery,, let me know how ya go on, im fairly new on here,,

Its alive!! ok shes running again after a good charge, maybe several nights of hard frost with no running killed the battery. the wires arnt taped up as such but their not in contact with anything(could this be the problem?), besides when it went dead the fuse for the radio was blown anyhow, now that its replaced the clock works and door light, and will have been the reason my original radio didnt either. however the ash tray light still works opposite to the switch so i had to disconnect it, not sure why?? fitting a new radio soon so ill see what that does, biggest part sorted out (so long as it doesnt drain again!!) touch wood, still a few funny bits standing out. gives me problems every week but i still love it! all advice appreciated.

yeah man they are tempermental buggers but worth ever bit of grief i love mine to bits,, even if it didnt run it would still look the biz sat on drive, l8as
