rejig internal courtesy light, the new one just purchased has only two terminals for wires as oppposed to four on the original.Would a "piggy " back terminal addition be any good .

The reason Igot a new one was because the light did not come on/off from the passenger door, yet worked on drivers side, any ideas why.

thanks …eddie

maybe there is no courtesy switch on the passenger side mate.. most basic models didn't and if it has got one that is most likely where the fault is not the light itself.. the switches are on the panel where the door hinges are

Neither of mine worked when I got my car. Easy fix thou, just remove the switch from the door and clean up the copper connections.

if the light worked on 1 door then its workign fine. how it works is it gets live from fusebox, and earths at the door pin either side, the door pin earths are joined together. what it will be is a dirty door pin or the earth wire has snapped off

afaik they should be 3 pin, live, earth to door pins and earth to chassis (for 'always on' position)

Cheers guys for ure input,Rubjonny,on the passenger side the earth wire(yellow and green) is just wound round the other wire to the door pin connector, and is not connected to anything ,is this the problem?

yel/green sounds liek a dodgy alarm splice, the factory door pin earth should be brown/white and pops onto the pin with a spade
