Hey,

I have a mk 1 gti campaigne and having a lot of problems with the electrics. horn, indicators, inner spots, blower, lighter.

I have found a wrecked mk 1 cabrio and have the fuse box. Can i directly swop this . So a 1984 to a 1991 fuse box. Anything i should know about before i start to fiddle and make things worse.

as long as your old fusebox is the same then you're fine, the earlier mk1 use a different one. its obvious when you look as its totally different shape :)

a lot of the looms are similar but not all, it depends on what dash both have etc.

for your problem it could be the x-over relay isnt working, try wiggling it in the socket. its 17/18 on later vw, if yours is early it may be plain. check the cabrio fusebox though it'll probably be numbered on there, match it to yours and wiggle away. if no hep swap the cab one over :)
