Argggggghhhhhhhh Indicators Please someone help me

Im getting to the point where i have now had enough. You fix one thing then another thing goes wrong. Two days ago i had indicators that worked then removed the instrument binnicle to plug in the speedo cable and now my indicators no longer work. When you select to indicate the light comes on the dash but does not flick on off etc nor do the indicators do anything. The indicators flash when the hazards are on. Can anyone help please before i lose my patience and sell it !!!!

I had this once mate - check the fuse - mine had had it.

If its not the fuse, try "half switching" the hazards on, if you indicators then work, it points to a fubar hazard switch

pull the dash plug and check the ribbon conenctor is seated right, mk1s are bugger for this moving about. check both the hazard switch fuses as well, there are 2 fuse number 4 and 19

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad connection in the fuse board behind fuse 4. I just jiggled fuse 4 around a bit and it worked.

I had disassembled the hazard switch beforehand and found nothing to go wrong to be honest.  Its very simple to do and put back together. It might be worth a look though to see if there is some corrosion or a bad contact.

may be worth checking the relay (i think it's 72 from memory) although not been disturbed may be worth a look

72 is front wiper, indicator relay is #21
