any ideas? dam gearbox

hay guys I have a 16v kr engine any ideas what the electrical conector on top of the gearbox does? was thinkin its just for the reverse light. just says its a multi function in my manual. Cheers

It does the reverse lights and tells the MFA when you are 5th gear
