Alternator adjusting bracket

Has anyone fitted or attepmted to fit the alternator bracket from the mk2 golf. You know the one with the teeth and the toothed bolt for easier fan belt tensioning???
I was gonna just order one but thought i would ask here first????

My '88 cabrio has this type and its fine. I'm not sure but I think my '83 GTI does too? I'm not sure cos I havent changed the belt yet!

It's not listed for the mk 1 gti but can't see why it won't fit as the main mounting bracket is the same as the mk2 gti

Maybe I think I'll do a bit of wife swapping this weekend……I mean swap the Wifey's Mk2 toothy alternator bracket this weekend….If I don't post any more you'll know I got caught in the act!
