AAAAAAAAhhhhh

ive just put a gti lump into my golf 1.1 and i have put the battery into the boot, but when ever i connect up the battery the igition lights come on without the key in the igition the car starts and runs but i cant get this light to go out!!! ive check bad earths and all my connections but i can get the ignitin to come on with the key!!  and its getting annoyng disconnecting the battery all the time!!!!!!

You have left off the ignition wire from the rear of the alternator , or connected it to a live 12v feed not the alternator .
