1983 GTD problems with fuse panel any help or spares would

be appreciated.

At first I noticed the drivers rear tail lamp was working then it stopped, few bumps later working again. Then came the passenger signal, wipers, radio, glow plug light, la la la.

I took the panel out of the car cleaned and inspected the contacts none of the male connector pins have major play all looks to be OK. The wire loom has been messed around with over the years and the pins were getting loose. The pins were addressed and some of the problems went away, but the signal & tail lamp persist. If the fuse panel is moved or the wire loom is propped onto the firewall the lights are OK, after a few bumps that ends.

Where is this problem coming from? Maybe the male pin on the fuse panel is broken inside of the panel housing? I opened the fuse panel and found what looks like a Swiss watch, so may connections piled on top of each other super complicated, no wonder this thing broke.

All help is appreciated…

Thats my gut feeling also, any ideas which VW's other than

Mk1 share that fuse panel and does it matter if the donor car is gasoline or diesel?

Thanks again…
