16v into mk1 problems

just put a 16v kr with twin 45s in to my 82 gti that not moved in 7 years  put a battery on it  and thought it would just start !!! cant get a spark and the feul pump not kicking in  replaced the relay no better  tested fuel pump ok put a short on the ing switch red to black no fuel pump,do i have short on any of the feul injection  wiring ie cold start  and is the 82 gti wiring the same as the 81 or is nearer to the 83
, whats the colours wiring to a 16v coil ive got a green a black and a brown please help
      ps the ingition light stays on dimmer whenthe ing is switch off

coil wiring:
green & red/black = coil - or 1
black = coil + or 15

brown wire is an earth, run that to the cylinder head or battery if it is long enough. are you using the p[roper KR ignition control unit?

The cold start circuit is not related to the fuel pump circuit. Are you using the original GTI fuel pump or another aftermarket one? If original, then you'll also need the 5th terminal connected which comes from the coil, its a pulse signal (same as rev counter) and its a safety device which shuts fuel off if the engine stops with the ignition on, eg in an accident.
