16v dials into mk1 loom with pics
My looom is from a 90 caddy 1.6 petrol and the dials are from an 89 mk2 KR 16v
I followed this diagram-
This is my loom-
Should the white and yellow wires be joined together and if so what do they do?
The green/blue wire from the mk1 loom is left blank on the diagram, is this right? as is the brown wire?? On the MFA switch connector I have a brown earth wire, shall I just join it to that????
Organised chaos —
cheers for any help guys

Im not sure if its as simple as that?
The only spare wire that come outo of the 16v dials is the white/yellow one, im wondering if it should be joined to the white/yellow wire coming from my loom??

Yeah im hoping to use the MFA on a seperate switch on the dash somewhere.

If it was me i would not try to use the complete Mfa on a hybrid conversion it can be more trouble than it worth . the only item you may miss would be oil temp , but that is easily catered for by aftermarket guages . Digital clock will work

Says its for radio voltage stabilizer and the same from MK1 loom so in theory you could connect these [this i have to add is different to the early MK1 set up] . Brown wire connect to earth near clocks under dash with self tapper is fine .
Nice neat wiring job by the way

If its going to be loads of hassle Ill just leave it out as long as like you said the digi clock will work.
Other that the brown earth on the MFA switch wires they are all connected to the dials. So does it get its info from the wires ive connected from the mk1 loom or not? (does that even make sense  )
Ive no idea what a radio stabalization wire does haha but Ill join them together and see what happens
Tomo is DDAY, engine harness is getting the same treatment so it goes through the bulkhead on the PS instead of the mk2 16v DS. wish me luck!

So if it was all in the car now the MFA wouldnt work as it is like that? Or would I have to add more wires to certain sensors to make it work?
Yes mate .

It relies on loads of different functions , senders , road speed etc etc and is one of the most talked about subjects as far MK1 electrics go . 1980's technology . Keep it simple and you will be well pleased with the clock conversion,i am in mine
