Settling In
Ok so finally got around to taking pump off the car yesterday after a bit of rusty bolt removal and problem solving I have it out ready to get re sealed . But I now have a new problem. The slot at the end of the cam wich the locking plate goes into I have slightly cracked trying to get pulley off. I have a new cam which I've had lying around is it worth me changing this and how difficult would it be to do this
Is it a case of just undoing the cam locking bearing covers any advise would be good

MOTY 2013
On gasoline engines, remove bearing caps 1 and 3, in that order. Loosen the nuts on each of the two remaining caps, a little at a time so that valve spring tension is relieved evenly.
On diesel engines, remove bearing caps 1, 3 and 5, in that order. Loosen the nuts on each of the two remaining caps, a little at a time so that valve spring tension is relieved evenly.
To install, begin with bearing caps 2 and 5 on gasoline engines, or 2 and 4 on diesel engines. Install the washers and nuts, gradually tightening all four nuts until the camshaft is drawn down fully and evenly into the bearing saddles. Install the remaining bearing caps with washers and nuts. Torque all the nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.).
