Gasket set for 1.6D

Hi,

I'm at present cleaning up a 1600 diesel engine to fit in my '79 1500 when I get around to it (probably when I need a new clutch, which will be quite soon) and I have a couple of questions.
I'll be fitting a new timing belt, obviously, with a tensioner because the surface of the present one is a bit worn. I'd also like to change the gaskets on both manifolds and the rocker cover, to try to keep the leaks at bay.
When dismantling this afternoon, I noticed that two of the exhaust gaskets were on the wrong way around and had been leaking, and I also noticed the similarities with the gaskets on the 1800 carb engine in my cabriolet.

Are many of the gaskets the same as the petrol blocks?
Do I need a set for a hydraulic lifter 1.6 diesel or a mechanical lifter? (How can I tell, as one ebay ad specified only for hydraulic?)
What is the best source for gaskets?

The difference between the mechanical and hyrdo heads robin are that the mechanical head uses a bucket and shim type arangement and the hydro has solid lifters on the valves..

An easier way of telling is to look at the front of the engine and the hydro engine has an extra gallery at the front left hand.

Also another thing to note is that all 1.5d and early 1.6d use 11mm headbolts as opposed to the late 1.6d's which use 12mm headbolts. An easier way to tell this is the early bolts are bolt heads and the later ones are hex keys.

OK, thanks, so I can check whether I need M11 or M12 bolts from under the rocker cover, but can I see the difference between hydraulic lifters and mechanical lifters without removing the head, as the head gasket is different, according to the suppliers?

I'd like to get a gasket set before I start dismantling, for obvious reasons.

So this must be a later 1.6D, with 12-spline hex bolts and an M12 thread:



Which of the codes will tell me what engine it is (CY?) etc?
